Brigadiers Alumni Association
The Brigadiers Alumni Association is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to support the marching musical arts community in Central New York, including support for the Brigadiers Winterguard and related projects as necessary, scholarships for students of the activity, and goodwill and support for the alumni of all Brigadiers alumni, regardless of generation.
The leadership of the Alumni Association is made up of alumni of the organization who volunteer their time, treasure and talent to supporting its' fundraising efforts and outreach opportunities.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
RANDALL BENNETT
Randall Bennett is an Elementary Band Director and Marching Band Music Coordinator in the Baldwinsville Central School District. Randall has been actively involved with the Brigadiers organization since he began marching with the competitive corps in 2007.
After the corps folded in 2009, Randall started playing with the Syracuse Brigadiers Alumni Corps. Randall was the Vice Chairman for the Alumni Drum Corps Committee from 2011-2013. Randall was elected Vice President of the Alumni Association in 2019, and later became President in 2020 and has been elected and held that title every year since then.
Outside of the Brigadiers, Randall has also taught the Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps, White Sabers Drum & Bugle Corps, Mohonasen High School Marching Band, Waukesha North "Northstar" High School Marching Band, and the Baldwinsville High School Marching Band.
LANSING R. DIMON
Lansing is an elementary band and orchestra director in the Syracuse City School District and is also the General Effect Coordinator for the "Pride of Syracuse City School District Marching Band". Previously, he was the Director of Athletic Bands at Carroll University where he helped form the new “Pride of the Pioneers” Marching Band and the University Pep Band in its inaugural year. He is a former Band and Orchestra teacher at Waukesha North High School in Waukesha, WI where he taught the 14 time State Champion Waukesha North “Northstar” Marching Band and all ensembles and classes. He is also the past director of the New Berlin (WI) Community Band and Norwich (NY) HS Marching Band.
Lansing has over 30 years in the marching arts activity, including marching, teaching, and administration with the Brigadiers, River City Rhythm Drum And Bugle Corps, and Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps and leading, designing and consulting for bands, drum corps and winterguards throughout his career. He is active as an adjudicator for solo and ensemble festivals, concert festivals and marching arts competitions, as well as clinics and workshops on integrating technology in music education.
A native of Central NY, Lansing holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education and a Masters in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University. He is also trained in audio engineering and production with the goal of combining his knowledge and skills in the band, orchestra and marching arts with sound recording, engineering, and design.
KIM A. MILLER
Kim Miller is an experienced and passionate band director with nearly a decade of teaching and directing experience in both classroom and marching band settings. Currently serving as elementary Band Director and Marching Band Director at Oswego City School District in Oswego, NY, Kim brings energy, creativity, and dedication to every ensemble she leads. Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering inclusive, engaging, and inspiring learning environments that help students thrive musically and personally.
Throughout her career, Kim has taught students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, leading concert bands, choirs, and general music classes. She has successfully directed numerous school concerts, prepared students for All County and NYSSMA Solo & Ensemble festivals, and coordinated dynamic marching band performances that emphasize musicality and teamwork.
Kim holds a Master of Science in Music Education from The College of Saint Rose, a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Syracuse University, and an Associate of Applied Science in Music from Onondaga Community College. Her expertise includes classroom management, integrating technology in music education, marching choreography, and instrument maintenance.
Beyond the classroom, Kim is an active member of professional organizations such as the New York State School Music Association, the National Band Association, and The Syracuse Orchestra Education Outreach Committee. She also serves on the Board of the Brigadiers Alumni Association and has contributed to multiple marching band programs across New York and Wisconsin throughout her career.
